Achievers Talk – Exclusive Interview with Dr. Logistics (Founder: Dr. Ankur Sharan)

The Source of Dr. Logistics

The inspiration behind Dr. Logistics comes from a deeply personal legacy. Late Shri A.S. Srivastava, father of Dr. Ankur Sharan, was a hardcore logistician who served the logistics industry for more than 40 years, dedicating his life to the sector till his last breath. He was a man who never retired, never tired, and even during his final days, shared exclusive discussions with his son on creating something meaningful for the future—small learnings, stories, and experiences to be preserved through podcasts, books, and knowledge-sharing platforms for the youth of India.

Adding to this lineage, Dr. Sharan’s Nanaji served in Customs & Excise, embedding the rhythm of logistics deeply into his family’s roots. Thus, Dr. Logistics is not merely a professional initiative but a heritage-driven mission, born from generations of association with trade, customs, and supply chain.

Achievers Talk with Dr. Ankur Sharan

Achievers Talk: Dr. Sharan, you are known as the face behind “Dr. Logistics.” Could you tell us why you chose this unique name and what it stands for?

Dr. Ankur Sharan: The name “Dr. Logistics” reflects my vision of bringing precision, clarity, and care into the world of supply chain. Just like a doctor diagnoses and provides solutions, Dr. Logistics is about diagnosing supply chain challenges and offering practical, experience-based solutions. It’s also about knowledge sharing and mentorship, treating logistics as the heartbeat of global trade and the backbone of our economy.

Achievers Talk: You have handled logistics functions of some of India’s major organizations. What were the key milestones in your journey?

Dr. Ankur Sharan: Working at Subros gave me the foundation of automotive supply chains—where precision, JIT (Just-in-Time), and lean systems are crucial. At Hindustan Times, I managed the complex media logistics function, ensuring timely delivery of newspapers across the nation, which was a completely different challenge of speed and scale. Now at Asia Shipping, I am handling the Commercial Department, which allows me to work closely with international shipping lines and EXIM partners. Each role has been a milestone, teaching me how logistics drives both industries and economies.

Achievers Talk: You are also working closely with Achievers Talk to bring forward inspiring stories. What is the vision behind this collaboration?

Dr. Ankur Sharan: I believe in the culture of knowledge sharing. There are so many achievers in logistics, supply chain, and related industries whose stories remain untold. Through our collaboration with Achievers Talk, we want to highlight these journeys and inspire the youth. The idea is simple—empowering skills, uplifting the spirit of collaboration, and making India a Vishwa Guru.

Achievers Talk: The EXIM industry is often called the lifeline of trade. How do you see its role in shaping India’s global position?

Dr. Ankur Sharan: Absolutely. The EXIM industry is one of the key drivers of India’s dream to become a global powerhouse. With growing exports, efficient containerized logistics, and modern infrastructure like Dedicated Freight Corridors and smart ICDs, India has the potential to emerge as a global supply chain hub. Dr. Logistics is committed to creating awareness about these opportunities and guiding the next generation to actively participate in this growth story.

Achievers Talk: What message would you like to give to young professionals aspiring to enter the logistics and supply chain sector?

Dr. Ankur Sharan: My message is: think global, act local. This is an industry where every small learning counts. Be ready to work on the ground, because that’s where the real understanding comes from. Keep upgrading your skills with technology and global practices, but never forget the fundamentals of discipline, teamwork, and accountability. With these values, Indian youth can lead the logistics revolution.
