NITIE Dean’s Son Featured on Forbes List

A proud moment for NITIE as Dr. Prasanna Date, son of Prof. Hema Date, Dean Alumni & International Affairs and Professor of Analytics and Decision Sciences at NITIE, gets featured on the 2022 Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia list. 

The Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia is an annual prestigious global recognition featuring 30 individuals under the age of 30 who demonstrate exemplary potential for success in ten different categories such as Finance & Venture Capital, Entertainment & Sports, Social Impact, Enterprise Technology etc. Out of more than 4000 total applicants this year, Prasanna got featured in the Healthcare and Science category for his research in quantum machine learning and neuromorphic computing. 

Prasanna is a Research Scientist at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), located in Tennessee, USA. ORNL is a United States government research facility, conducting pioneering research in materials science, nuclear science, high-performance computing, and neutron science, etc. At ORNL, Prasanna is developing quantum machine learning and quantum artificial intelligence approaches that are faster than current ones. His work could enable more effective data analytics in scientific and consumer applications such as high-energy physics and self-driving cars. Prasanna is also an expert in neuromorphic computing, an energy-efficient computing platform that performs computations by mimicking the human brain. 

Prasanna’s recognition on the 2022 Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia list has not only made the Date family but the entire NITIE family proud!
