
Faridabad, July 25: Reinforcing its commitment to social responsibility and community welfare, DAV Public School, Sector-14, Faridabad, in collaboration with Rotary Club of Faridabad East and DAV Interact Club (Abhishti), organized a Blood Donation, Thalassemia Screening, Mammography, Eye, Dental and General Health Check-up Camp on 25th July, Saturday at the school.
The camp was inaugurated by Ms Abha Gangal, Manager, DAV Public School, Sector-14, who graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour. The event was held under the visionary leadership of Principal Ms Anita Gautam and witnessed the presence of distinguished Rotarians, including Rtn. H.L. Bhutani, (Committee Chair), Rtn. Gurneet Chawla,(President), Rtn. S.C. Tyagi (Committee Chair), Rtn. C.P. Kohli ( Sgt at Arms), Sh. Deepak Prasad (President, Blood Bank), Sh. M.D. Mogal (Vice- President), Sh. Rajesh Garg, Sh. Rajesh Mahajan, Sh. Arvind Cheema, Sh. M. K. Mahtani, Sh. Deepak Thukral, Smt. Sunita Jhawar and Sh. Uday Gautam.
A dedicated medical team from Yatharth Hospital, comprising Dr. Anupam Kumar Varshney, Dr. Madhur Manak (Dentist) and Dr. Jatin Wadhwa (Consultant Ophthalmologist), conducted eye and dental check-ups, while mammography, thalassemia screening and general health consultations were also offered.
The camp received an enthusiastic response from parents, alumni, teachers, staff members and members of the local community. Leading from the front, Principal Ms Anita Gautam also donated blood, inspiring many others to participate in the noble cause.
The initiative concluded on a remarkable note with the collection of 157 units of blood, 196 registrations for mammography screenings and health check-ups, making it one of the most impactful community outreach programmes organised by the school. Donors were honoured with certificates of appreciation and refreshments for their invaluable contribution.
Expressing gratitude to all stakeholders, Principal Ms Anita Gautam lauded the unwavering support of the Rotary Club, Yatharth Hospital, volunteers and donors, stating that every unit of blood donated is a priceless gift that has the power to save lives and strengthen the spirit of humanity.
