Achievers Talk: Dr. Prince Raj, first of all, congratulations on being part of such a historic moment – the 64th National Art Exhibition where Hon’ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, personally graced the occasion and honored the artists. How do you describe this experience?

Dr. Prince Raj: Thank you so much. Honestly, it was nothing less than a golden chapter in the history of Indian art. Having the Hon’ble President herself come among the artists, rather than just inviting us to the Rashtrapati Bhavan, was deeply moving. It gave us not only recognition but also a sense of belonging and encouragement. The energy in the auditorium at Dr. Ambedkar International Centre was beyond words—every artist, every art lover, and every family member present felt inspired and blessed.

Achievers Talk: Why do you feel this moment was different from earlier recognitions?

Dr. Prince Raj: Usually, such awards are limited to a few winners within the walls of the Rashtrapati Bhavan. This time, the presence of thousands of people as witnesses gave it a completely different magnitude. It was not just about 20 artists receiving awards of ₹2,00,000 and certificates—it was about inspiring the entire art community, showing them that their efforts, creativity, and devotion to culture are truly respected at the highest levels of our nation. This visibility puts Indian painters and sculptors on the same pedestal of recognition as filmmakers or musicians who get national awards. That in itself is historic.

Achievers Talk: What role do you think such exhibitions and recognitions play in shaping the future of Indian art and culture?

Dr. Prince Raj: Exhibitions like these are not just platforms to showcase creativity, they are spaces where the artist’s soul meets the nation’s conscience. The 64th National Art Exhibition received over 6,000 entries, out of which around 300 were displayed. Seventy-four artworks were sold, crossing 1.5 crore rupees. This shows the growing appreciation and value of art in society. When our culture is at the center of our creativity, it naturally resonates worldwide. History shows that all great artists drew their strength from their roots. So for India, this exhibition is proof that our cultural identity is not only alive but thriving.

Achievers Talk: How do you personally see your role as an artist in this “Art Nirbhar Bharat” journey?

Dr. Prince Raj: I see myself as a humble “kala-sadhak”—a seeker of art. For me, art is not just about creating beauty; it is about carrying forward our heritage, telling untold stories, and inspiring society. This recognition motivates me to continue working tirelessly to present Indian culture to the world through my paintings. The President’s blessings and the platform of Lalit Kala Akademi have ignited new energy in me to dream bigger and contribute more.

Achievers Talk: What message would you like to share with young and emerging artists of India?

Dr. Prince Raj: My message is simple: stay rooted in your culture, stay consistent with your practice, and believe in your journey. Recognition may take time, but your art will always find its audience. Don’t create for awards—create for the soul, for the society, and for Bharat Mata. Every stroke of your brush or chisel carries the power to transform emotions, perceptions, and even history. And as we saw in this exhibition, if you stay committed, your moment will come, and it will be worth it.

Achievers Talk: Finally, what is your biggest takeaway from this once-in-a-lifetime experience?

Dr. Prince Raj: That art is divine, and artists are its humble messengers. To receive blessings directly from the Hon’ble President was not just an award—it was an affirmation that the nation values our devotion. For me, this is a lifelong memory, a golden light guiding me forward. Truly, “Jai Kala, Jai Sanskriti, Jai Bharat, Jai Kalakaar.”
