Vikas Kumar: Thank you. I joined the Red Cross Society with the aim of serving humanity and creating a positive impact in the community. Over the years, I have witnessed the transformation of countless individuals, especially the youth, who have embraced the values of selfless service. My journey has been deeply fulfilling, working on various initiatives such as first aid training, blood donation drives, TB awareness programs, and skill development camps. It has been an honor to lead impactful programs under the guidance of respected officials like the Deputy Commissioner and the additional Deputy Commissioner of Gurugram.
Q: What are the core values of the Red Cross Society, and how do they inspire society?
Vikas Kumar: The Red Cross Society is built on the principles of humanity, impartiality, and voluntary service. It aims to bring out the best in people by instilling compassion and a sense of duty. Through our initiatives, we teach life skills, moral values, and the importance of community service. The youth play a crucial role in nation-building, and our programs are tailored to inspire them to contribute towards the welfare of society.
Q: Can you tell us more about the recent initiatives of the Gurugram Red Cross Society?
Vikas Kumar: Recently, we conducted a five-day Junior Red Cross Training Camp at Government Senior Secondary School in Gurugram. The camp focused on first aid, HIV/AIDS awareness, anti-dowry campaigns, social media ethics, and disaster management. Over 100 students and 20 counselors participated enthusiastically. We also organized TB awareness sessions at auto and bus stands, educating people about symptoms and government-provided treatment facilities. These initiatives aim to create a ripple effect of awareness and action in the community.
Q: What message would you like to give to the youth?
Vikas Kumar: I urge the youth to embrace community service as an integral part of their lives. The satisfaction of helping others is unparalleled. By joining hands with organizations like the Red Cross, they can learn valuable life skills and contribute to building a better society. Always remember, true happiness lies in serving others.
