Beyond the Candles: India Must Shift from Outrage to Action

Every time a horrific crime against a child shakes our nation, a familiar pattern unfolds. We grieve, light candles, and vent our outrage on social media. But we must confront a hard truth: Will these crimes stop simply because we react after the tragedy has occurred?

If the answer is a definitive “No,” then our approach must fundamentally shift. We can no longer afford to be a society that merely responds to horror. We must become a society that actively prevents it.

The “Safe Childhood – Safe India” Movement

Recognizing this critical turning point, the Global Confederation of NGOs (GCNGO), led by Founder and President Parvesh Malik, has launched a massive, one-year national social awareness campaign: “Safe Childhood – Safe India.”

This is a blueprint for a collective societal awakening. GCNGO is calling upon all social, religious, and educational institutions to shatter the culture of silence and regularly conduct grassroots awareness programs focusing on:

Educating children on Good Touch and Bad Touch.

  •  Instilling values of respect, empathy, and dignity in both boys and girls.
  •  Conducting workshops for parents and teachers to spot early warning signs.
  •  Spreading awareness about child protection laws and cyber safety.

The safety of children is not solely the responsibility of the law; it is the collective responsibility of society.”

A Call to Action for Achievers

True leaders do not stand on the sidelines. If thousands of organizations across India commit to hosting just one regular program in their area, millions of citizens will receive the right guidance. We can protect our children before a crime ever materializes.

Let us dedicate this year to systemic change. Join the movement today to build an India where every child lives without fear.
